NETWORK FOR EARLY IDENTIFICATION OF ATRIAL FIBRILLATION AND STROKE PREVENTION IN NORTH-EASTERN GREECE (The NEDAFISP project)
 

DESCRIPTION
Establishment of a multicenter interdisciplinary interactive collaborative network to promote the awareness and early detection of AF in order to improve stroke prevention in this south-eastern region of Europe.

Inclusion criteria: A fast fact sheet (FFS) has been developed that contains a predetermined set of criteria which will qualify patients at risk in cardiology and neurology clinics. The FFS was distributed to the collaborating centres in the form of a two-page leaflet

Establishment of a central (core) Holter monitor reading laboratory (Cardiology Dpt-Democritus University
Establishment of a central interdisciplinary Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Service for patients with AF
Patients reqruitment:
- Neurology Arm/ Center 1 (N01) : already active in patient recruiting
Current Rate: 25-30 patients/month
- Health centers:

Equipment of all participating sites with Holter monitoring devices for the examination on site. The devices should also be capable of transmitting the recorded ECG data to the central Holter monitor reading laboratory
